I am certain that, like all companies, you are facing a new set of Social technology dynamics and have concerns on such things as security, compliance, and archiving. This event will provide a open platform discussion among business executives on how current technologies for Social Media and Mobile Devices are changing and shaping the way we do business and process our information. Also, new generations (Gen Y) are entering our workforce. They have been educated and are accustomed to using these tools to Capture, Connect, and Share their information immediately. It is the new generation workforces and our constant need for information that will be changing the future of your business processes.

At our recent ECM Solutions Conference, Nexus, ImageSource announced the new brand strategy for our ILINX product line – Capture | Connect | Share.
The three word tagline was chosen because it so accurately describes the critical comments of an effective Enterprise Content Management system.
Capture:
The more effectively an organization can get information into their system the better they are able to manage that information. Critical content comes into organizations every day. How are you capturing your information? How effectively are you managing all types of content (paper, electronic content, video, pictures, etc)? What technology are you embracing to enable electronic information? Fax machines? MFPs? Desktop scanners? Production scanners? Because Capture is the “on-ramp” to any ECM system, having the right tools (ILINX Capture Products) will enable the success of your ECM system.
Connect:
Seamless integration with line-of-business systems is essential for user adoption, simple end-user training and overall Change Management. With the use of ILINX Connect products, organizations can access all critical documents from one central ECM repository without ever leaving the LOB system they are familiar with. ILINX successfully integrates ECM systems with SAP, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft and others.
Connectivity between different ECM systems is also essential in order to maximize the benefits of all the various technologies. ILINX integrates technologies such as SharePoint, Oracle, LiquidOffice, Kofax, and more.
Share:
Business operations depend on getting the right information to the right people at the right time. Having the right tools to access that information easily is the functionality built into the ILINX Share products. Organizations must be able to export targeted information effectively for public disclosure requests, specific agenda items, invoices, and much, much more. Having that information easy to retrieve in a well organized, usable format is essential.
ILINX products are the cornerstone of many successful ECM solutions. Visit the customer success stories page on our website and see how organizations, both public and private, are creating effective ECM solutions utilizing ILINX technologies.

In a press release dated December 3, 2009, Governor Gregoire announces several significant reform measures to ensure Washington State delivers services more efficiently and effectively. One area of focus is information technology opportunities.
“Wide adoption of IT shared services allows agencies to concentrate on mission-critical needs while achieving savings through economies of scale and standardization,” said Tony Tortorice, state Chief Information Officer. “This is better for the agencies as they work with fewer resources to provide better service, and it’s better for Washingtonians who will receive better service at a lower cost.”
At Nexus 2009, the ECM solutions conference hosted by ImageSource, two government entities received ECM awards for improving services and creating efficiencies in their daily operations.
The recent ImageSource press release, dated November 10, 2009, highlights the two ECM solutions. Below are highlights from the press release.
The Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) received the award for Best Use of Complementary Technology for a solution that automates the routing, monitoring and management of imaged checks and supplementary documents received by DFI.
“This solution assures that all checks and supplemental documents are imaged almost immediately, facilitating the rapid deposit of checks received by DFI.” said Ron Seymour, CIO, Washington State Department of Financial Institutions. “Being recognized at the Nexus conference highlights DFI’s commitment to develop technology that benefits the State of Washington,”
The City of Richland received the award for the Largest Return on Investment for an ECM solution that streamlined their agenda process by creating electronic workflows.
“Technology is rapidly changing how cities in Washington can gain efficiencies, improve processes, network and share information. Our objective is to make Richland a leader in information management,” said Jon Amundson, Assistant City Manager, City of Richland. “We are honored to be recognized by this award which demonstrates the economic benefits this technology can bring to the City and its constituents.”

AIIM recently announced they are accepting nominations for the AIIM 2010 awards. The Awards Program recognizes the leaders, the innovators, and the dedicated members of our community. Award nominees test the boundaries of our industry, look to the future, respect the past, take risks, serve their profession, and welcome diversity of thought.
In 2009 ImageSource Customer Partner, the City of Kennewick, was the recipient of the Carl E Nelson Best Practices Award which recognizes excellence in the ECM field by showcasing successful ECM implementations.
The award winning implementation at the City of Kennewick provides a comprehensive system for a variety of business processes. It supplies workflows for the routing, review, approval and distribution of City Council agenda documentation and enterprise repository document storage. Electronic LiquidOffice time cards have been implemented for streamlining the submission of information by employees and payroll processing. Additionally, ImageSource’s ILINX Distributed Indexing was integrated to enable the successful contribution of all content to the City’s Oracle repository through intuitive indexing and validation. The new system has contributed to the City’s existing levels of service, despite the reduction of seven full‐time employees in the current biennium. The City’s new technologies and ensuing processes have the potential to save Kennewick nearly one million‐dollars in storage costs over the next five years.
The 2010 Awards will be presented during the AIIM Exposition and Conference in Philadelphia, April 20-22. ImageSource looks forward to submitting another world-class solution for consideration in 2010.

I had the opportunity to work the Interface ‘09 tradeshow yesterday with ProStor Systems. There was a ton of activity at the ProStor booth, and it was a great opportunity to learn more about the storage solutions that ProStor offers. Some things that people were interested in that ProStor specializes in were:
- Long-term data storage
- Archiving
- Backup
- Compliance
I am looking forward to working more with ProStor and learning more about their storage options as well. ProStor exhibited at this year’s Nexus conference, and we would love to have them at Nexus ‘10 as well. Registration for next year is up and active. Don’t miss your chance to register for the northwest’s premier ECM Solutions Conference, Nexus.

For those of you who attended Nexus 09, you know how awesome it was. For those of you who didn’t, here is a little recap for you.
The opening event at the Twisted Cork at the Hyatt in Bellevue was a great way to kick off the conference and bring together attendees, vendors and ImageSource staff. There were appetizers and cocktails, and it was just a fun way to mingle with everyone.
The first day of the conference was very eventful. It kicked off with Atle Skjekkeland, Vice President of AIIM as the keynote speaker. He discussed new worker models, Enterprise 2.0 and social media. The second keynote presentation that day was a case study panel. Each panelist discussed his solution and the benefits it brought each organization, as well as answered questions.
The breakouts for the first day were packed with information ranging from SharePoint, to ILINX Capture, to Social Media.
The evening event was held at Lucky Strike Lanes in Bellevue. This was an awesome event. It was not your typical bowling alley. It was chic and modern. The food was fabulous and the music was great.
Day two of the conference boasted Shadrach White, CTO of ImageSource and John Isaza from Howett Isaza Law Group as the keynotes. Breakouts were centered around records management, enterprise planning, and more.
If you haven’t registered for Nexus 2010, you need to! Space is limited and right now, the price is only $195! Use code NEXUS10SPL. The dates are Nov. 4-5 at the Meydenbauer Center.

A breakout session that I attended today was Getting Microsoft SharePoint Content Under Control with IBM ECM. I was going into the class expecting to see tips and best practices on how to configure SharePoint using IBM tools, but there was no tips or tricks.
The class was really about IBM connectors for SharePoint. I thought the IBM folks did a good job of providing a nice and easy UI that integrated with SharePoint seamlessly. Check out screen shots below, taken from my iPhone. The first picture is the indexing screen and the second is the search screen.
